Some Assembly Required.

Happy New Year's Eve!  What resolutions are you making this year?

I guess one of my resolutions will be to keep this blog updated regularly, so hold me to it!

  Christmas Review

We had a wonderful Christmas, although it really hit me on Christmas Eve just how much I miss all our family and friends back home... Well, Germany IS home now, but you know what I mean. I only had one emotional crying breakdown this season, and it was purely out of missing y'all!!  So after Daniel let me cry and fuss, I felt much better... And the reality is, I know this is where we are meant to be.  We have a wonderful church family, which helps A LOT, and being able to keep in touch is pretty easy as long as you remember time differences.  God has us here for a purpose, and I believe one reason is so we can learn to rely on each other and on Christ to become a stronger family.

Although it rained on Christmas day, we had a white Week Before Christmas.

We spent Christmas morning with our wonderful neighbors and their 5 kids.  It was wonderful to hear their excitement and appreciation, it was all so organized and pleasant.  She made delicious cinnamon rolls and breakfast casseroles. Yum.

Around noon, we walked back home and opened the gifts under our cute little tree.  I gave Daniel shirts and pants from Old Navy.  BORING, I know, but all his pants are too big, and his birthday is right around the corner so I already have something planned for that!  Daniel gave me flip flops, a beautiful sweater, a skirt, and big-girl scissors (because we've been using tiny craft scissors), and a camel brown pea coat!  I love it!

<-----------Then a few days after, we bought this big beautiful solid wood table with 6 lovely chairs (I've been waiting for this for months!!)
Nana made the placemats and Mom Wise sent the napkins!

We got countless goodies from back home, along with sweet treats... Raisin cookies! Chocolate-covered everything! Puppy chow! Haystacks! We MUST get this out of the house, and I'm afraid they will disappear quickly!

Parker's presents were a lot of fun for us to open!  Thank you all for the gifts you sent to him!  Parker is officially the best-dressed kid on this side of the ocean.  And it was fun learning the meaning of  "Some Assembly Required".  They never say "TONS OF ASSEMBLY REQUIRED"!!!  With Daniel's handy-man skills, Parker has his first sit-and-play from Santa... And for now he has to lay and play because he can't quite sit up! Until then, he can just chew on everything!

How spoiled we are!  God is so good!  We don't deserve any of this, especially the gift of Jesus.  Have a wonderful new year!!
